Open Letter Calls on Prime Minister to Reform Asylum Accommodation

An open letter calling for urgent reform of the way people seeking asylum are housed in the UK has now been sent to the Prime Minister.

The letter, coordinated by Refugee Action and supported by organisations and individuals across the sector, urges the Government to rethink the current asylum accommodation system and adopt an approach that is safer, fairer and more dignified for people seeking protection.

The campaign has also received national media attention, with the i covering the letter as part of a wider report on asylum accommodation and the challenges surrounding the current system.

Refugee Action has now published the full open letter online, helping to bring greater public attention to the concerns raised and the changes being requested.

Alongside the letter, supporters are sharing campaign content across social media, including LinkedIn, Instagram and BlueSky, to encourage wider discussion and support for reform.

The organisations involved are now awaiting a response from the Prime Minister and will continue advocating for improvements to the asylum housing system.
