Accompany

Revive will always walk alongside or in company with refugees and asylum seekers using a framework underpinned by the principles of recovery.
This recognises that human flourishing is always predicated on positive encounter, mutual relationship, and community.
Accompanying may involve offering free emotional and practical support.
It often involves supporting and accompanying refugees and people seeking asylum to important meetings or hearings or representations and accessing services that might otherwise be daunting.
It involves helping to fill in application forms and liaising with the appropriate authorities.
Our role here is one of gathering and assessing information, assisting with understanding of the needs and the law and the implications of the immigration decisions, but not pulling or pushing the client who is making those decisions.

“Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”

                                                                – Albert Camus
